About Terre
Terre Bridgham, MFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist, focusing on the specialties of trauma and addiction. After completing her BA from UCLA in fine art, Terre worked as a professional artist for 20 years, which led her in to the field of psychology. She obtained her Masters degree in psychology from Philips Graduate Institute, with a focus on Art Therapy. Currently Terre has over 30 years experience working in recovery, working with individuals, couples and families on issues of addiction, depression, sexual abuse and trauma. Terre uses an eclectic approach to the therapeutic process, creating a safe environment, utilizing individually specific interventions to provide an optimum and compassionate experience for growth and change.
Terre is a registered Art Therapist, certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and has received Post Induction Training (PIT) training from The Meadows with Pia Melody; a model effectively used to deconstruct family of origin patterns, crucial for building the foundations for healing.
Terre’s professional experiences include, residential addiction treatment for adults, residential treatment for at-risk youth, domestic violence programs and director of family services in the non-profit sector.
In addition, Terre’s work has been published in Art Therapy and Neuroscience, contributing a chapter, demonstrating, through case study, the application of art therapy techniques in the therapeutic process.
Terre focuses on collaborating with client’s to develop trust and compassion enhancing the therapeutic experience to support personal integration. The desired outcomes of integration can include improved relational interactions both internally and externally. Philosophically, Terre believes people can heal, changing attachment styles and create a new life story.
